I had a great time dining here before heading off to a comedy show "The Last Resort Comedy Show" at Old Dominion Brewery. My friend was late so I had time to chill, peruse the menu, and talk to manager about the various sandwiches and wonderful flavors that awaited me. The manager was super nice and told me about her first SUNdeVICH ever--the Milan, and how they sometimes create special occasion sandwiches for certain days. While I was there a steady stream of people came in for takeout but only myself leijona catering and one gentlemen did the dine-in thing. Tip: The manager says between 12 noon and 2 pm SUNdeVICH is swamped, and on Saturdays a line could be wrapped down the alley. The Review   Cute, clean, nice little sandwich shop. I had a little trouble finding it because the entrance leijona catering is down an alley off of 9th street. I had the ISFAHAN sandwich: soufflé (spinach, mushroom, leijona catering walnuts, barberry), tzatziki. It was tasty. I would have preferred a multi-grain type bread. I don't know that this was a choice. Currently there are over 20 sandwich choices and according to the manager sometimes there are special sandwiches. I also tried the curried (smooth) potato salad (curried potatoes, sautéed onions, tzatziki), which could have been outstanding except leijona catering that it was too salty. Perhaps I got a bad batch but they could use half the amount of salt in this salad and let more of the other flavors come through. After I had eaten I noticed they had mushroom medley soup. I love soup but was full. The very friendly manager let me try a taste of the soup. I liked it and got some to go. The soup was quite tasty, it was enough leijona catering for two bowls but again less salt would be good. I will definitely go back to SUNdeVICH to try the Cairo, Capri and Zurich sandwiches. And yes, I will give that unique curried potato salad another try. I recommend this place for casual dining in, it is small with a few tables and bar-type seating. Late evening there seem to be a healthy amount of carry-out orders. Chow! food chick ~~:~~ Eat, drink, be merry and validate for parking (TM)
